Honoring Queen Esther & the Power of Divine Timing
Tonight at sundown marks the beginning of Purim a biblical celebration of courage, faith, and divine positioning. The story of Queen Esther in the Book of Esther reminds us that God places us exactly where we need to be “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).
Maybe I’m biased, but Queen Esther has always been one of my favorite biblical women. My great-grandmother’s name was Queen Esther Banks (although her headstone only reflects Esther Banks), and every time I read her story, I feel a special connection almost like her name was a prophecy over our lineage. Esther’s courage, wisdom, and favor remind me of the strength carried by the women in my family.
But there’s something deeper about Esther’s story that often goes unnoticed. The longer version of Esther, which includes the missing chapters removed from many modern Bibles, reveals an even greater spiritual truth. It speaks to discerning God’s voice, fasting, and the unseen spiritual battle behind Esther’s victory. I wrote about this back in October 2024, diving into the full story and its hidden lessons. If you want to explore Esther’s journey beyond what’s commonly read, you can check it out here:
Purim reminds us that when we trust God’s timing and step into our purpose, miracles unfold.

A Prayer in Honor of Purim & the Story of Queen Esther
Heavenly Father,
I come before You today, grateful for the story of Queen Esther a woman of courage, faith, and divine purpose. Just as You positioned her for such a time as this, I trust that You are guiding me to where I am meant to be.
Lord, grant me the discernment to hear Your voice clearly, just as Esther sought Your wisdom through fasting and prayer. Give me the courage to walk boldly in my calling, even when fear tries to silence me. Strengthen my faith to trust that Your favor goes before me, opening doors no man can shut.
May I always remember that my life is not by chance, but by divine design that You have placed me exactly where I need to be for a greater purpose. Help me to remain steadfast, knowing that victory belongs to those who trust in You.
I pray for deliverance, protection, and favor over myself, my family, and all who seek You. May we walk in the wisdom and anointing of Esther, knowing that You are always working behind the scenes for our good.
I seal this prayer in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, Amen.
