Proverbs 9: What Table Are You Dining At?
Proverbs 9 paints a vivid picture of two opposing invitations. One from Wisdom, who has furnished her table (Proverbs 9:2), and one from Folly, whose guests are in the depths of hell (Proverbs 9:18). The question is: Which table are you dining at?
In today’s world, we often hear the phrase, “What do you bring to the table?” But before we answer, we must ask: Whose table are we sitting at?
Wisdom’s table is one of preparation, nourishment, and truth. It is where discipline refines us and obedience leads to fulfillment. On the other hand, Folly’s table is filled with distractions, temporary pleasures, and unseen destruction. Proverbs 7:27 warns that her house leads “down to the chambers of death.”
Psalm 111:10 reminds us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Are we positioning ourselves at the table of wisdom, where God’s guidance shapes our decisions? Or are we indulging in what looks good but ultimately leads to loss?
Today’s card reading deepens this message:
✨ Eight of Grains (Exodus 36:1) – The Craftsmen: Skill, dedication, and divine assignment. Just as Bezalel and Oholiab were given wisdom to build the tabernacle, we must be intentional about what we are constructing in our lives. Are you using your gifts to build something meaningful?
✨ Mizrael – Four of Pentacles: Deliverance and self-liberation. Holding onto the wrong things like fear, pride, or old cycles can block our blessings. Where do you need to release control and allow God to lead?
✨ Jasmine (22) – Manifestation and New Beginnings: Just as the fragrance of jasmine lingers, our presence should leave an impact. What intentions are you setting, and how are you cultivating them into reality?
Divine Signs: 3, woodworking, tools, construction, jasmine flowers, fragrance, liberation, manifestation, new beginnings, rabbits, moon, triple goddess, crescent moon, hills & valleys, fertility, birth
💫 Divine Signs are symbolic messages that often appear in daily life, reminders that we are aligned with God’s path or need deeper reflection. Have you been noticing any of these signs lately? Let’s explore what they mean for you in a reading.
📝 Let’s take a moment to reflect with these journal prompts:
1. Whose table am I sitting at—Wisdom’s or Folly’s?
2. What am I actively building in my life, and is it rooted in wisdom?
3. Where do I need to release control and allow God to establish my steps?
🙏🏾 Let us pray
Prayer for Divine Alignment | Rooted in Proverbs 9
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the wisdom that prepares a feast before me. I desire to sit at the table of wisdom, to partake in understanding, and to build what is pleasing in Your sight. Align my efforts with Your will and establish the work of my hands.
Forgive me for the times I have chosen foolishness over wisdom. I release fear, doubt, and anything that keeps me from walking fully in my purpose. Just as the craftsmen built with divine instruction, I ask for Your guidance in every plan and decision I make.
May my presence be like a sweet fragrance, a reflection of Your grace and purpose. I declare that I am building with intention, that I am walking in wisdom, and that everything I put my hands to will prosper. I seal this prayer in wisdom, clarity, and divine favor.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
✨ Affirmation: I am building a life rooted in wisdom, and my steps are established by God.
